Jane has been an artist for over 30 years, having been taught by renowned artist Christopher Fiddes at Northampton High School for Girls, then gaining a Diploma in Foundation Studies at Northampton School for Art, a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Loughborough College of Art and Design, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Printmaking from Wimbledon School of Art.
Her artwork often reflects and celebrates her love of nature, animals and the natural world, exploring human and animal figures and the landscape. Her studio wood and linocut prints use the formal limitations of the block to explore, express and celebrate, a personal relationship with the natural world.
She has been commissioned to create and paint designs on many sculptures, for charitable Public Art Trails in the UK and abroad.
Jane was recently commissioned by Bath & North East Somerset Council to create designs that were laser cut onto CorTen steel tree planters and grilles as part of the London Rd Gateway Regeneration Project Bath.
She has also worked as an art project organiser, as artist in residence and part of the workshop team on King Bladud's Pigs in Bath 2008, and from 2009 as a member of the organising team for Community interest Company Art at the Edge, who have worked on a number of projects including 'Sculpture and Sport a Celebration for 2012'. Her voluntary work in the Arts sector includes working with pupils and staff at Newbridge Primary School, Bath to create the Millennium and Golden Tapestries and a number of wall murals.
In 2019 Jane began working experimentally on paper making and using hand made paper in her work and including her poetry.
Jane is a member of the Northampton Town and County Art Society and SWillustrators group. In 2007 she won the chairmans special prize in the ANA IV Aozora Environmental Picture Book Competition.
